LIFE in your churches

Read how one of our church partners is answering the call to value life.

When TWC opened a fourth clinic in Irving two years ago, leadership prayed for local churches to come alongside the ministry. MacArthur Boulevard Baptist Church answered the call. As official ministry partners, the church is joining Thrive in its mission to combat abortion in its very own community.

“The church is called to uphold the sanctity of life, care for those in need, and share the Gospel,” said Bob Bolander, a pastor at MacArthur Boulevard Baptist. “We, as the church, aren’t equipped to meet all those needs, but supporting a ministry like Thrive allows us to be engaged in this issue. TWC is the boots on the ground working with those who are struggling and leading them to make choices for life.”

How does MacArthur Boulevard Baptist Church engage TWC and the life issue?

• Discussing abortion and the sanctity of life from the pulpit.
• Filling baby bottles with funds for TWC once a year. This year, members gave about $5,000.
• Matching baby bottle donations with church mission funds.
• Hosting an open house at our clinic so church members can tour, understand the needs, and explore involvement opportunities.
• Educating church youth about the LIFE issue with TWC’s OhKnow presentation.

In turn, Thrive provides a place where the church can send people facing unplanned pregnancy. “We call these partners Vinekeeper churches because they truly keep us grounded in the True Vine—Christ— and nourish our ministry so we may cultivate LIFE,” said Mary Jayne Fogerty, TWC’s Executive Director.
